Scam/Phishing Messages

On Thursday, April 22, 2021, we were made aware of a scam attempt targeting members of our church via text messages. If you receive a suspicious message asking for favors from a phone number claiming to be Pastor Drew Carroll (or from any of our pastors), please ignore these messages. We will never ask members of our church to provide gifts of monetary value to any individual without prior discussion or without specifying a public need. Any monetary donations to our church are handled through our giving page at give.surprise.church or through in-person payments.

Please know that we take the security of our members' information very seriously. We are actively looking into how the scammer(s) may have acquired the information used in this scam. As of right now, we have no reason to believe the scammers acquired the information from any of our database systems. We are currently reaching out to several members that were affected by the scam to gather additional information. We will update you when we learn more.

We believe these scammers may continue to target members of our church. Do not respond to these messages and do not click any links that you receive. Please be cautious when interacting with these messages. We are working with local churches who have also had the same scam and we are working on identifying a possible source of information.
