Building Update - Oct 3rd

Good afternoon Surprise Christian Church,

It has been a while, so I wanted to take a minute to update you guys on a few pieces for the building.

First: Building Drawings

The drawings have been completed with the architect and turned into the city! This is pretty awesome news. All that is left now if to wait for Surprise to approve us. Once that happens, demo begins! I am hopeful that will happen before the end of the month!

Second: Preliminary Demo

We are going to test out a device that will help pull up the matting off the floors in the facility so we can begin to make some progress while waiting on the city. I will let you guys know if you can jump in to help!

Third: Building Fund Update

So far, we have raised just over 13K dollars in the building fund. That is just shy of halfway to our goal of 30k! Thank you guys so much for your support. We continue to need your support as we walk through this! We were told that we are going to have to add an additional 6 ton AC unit to the building in order to meet city standards. It is expensive! However, I know we can do this. God has blessed us every step of the way and I appreciate you guys being a part of that blessing. If you want to support us, simply go to this page https://www.surprise.church/Give and select give using pushpay. After arriving at pushpay, make sure to select building fund in the drop down! Thank you again!

Fourth: Ways to Get Connected

We are continuing to livestream every Sunday at live.surprise.church at 9:30 and 11:00. We film those sermons on Saturday nights at 5:00 P.M. at the building. We would love to have you sign up to come join us on Saturday! We are limiting to 25 right now, but once the walls are down, we will try to expand that. Sign ups are on social media and sent out via email each Wednesday. We are also doing communion every Sunday morning at 8. We do a quick communion thought and prayer to get our Sunday’s started, I would love to have you join us!

Fifth: Serving Opportunities

I hope you received the email from Pastor Brad detailing out an upcoming service opportunity with the city! If not, reach out to him at Brad.Reese@surprise.church for info. Unfortunately, they are limiting groups to only 10! Lame, I know. COVID certainly makes things challenging. Nonetheless, it’s a blessing to get to serve our cities. We may have an upcoming opportunity helping out Imagine Prep on Fridays with their food program, I will keep you notified.

Let me encourage you, jump in and serve with the city! The city has opportunities going on and I know other places like food banks could use the help. I have found this webpage to be useful when looking for ways to get involved with serving in our community: https://www.justserve.org

In Closing

I pray for all of you regularly. If I haven’t been able to see you in the last few months, please come to the livestream filming on Saturday if you can. I have seen a lot of you guys, but there are many I haven’t yet.

Please join us in praying for our city, our country, and our world. We are experiencing so many trials. The recent news of the President getting COVID-19 is very saddening. It can be easy to lapse into fear, to allow the circumstances to dominate the way you approach life and how you feel. Trust in the Lord, He will not disappoint you.

I look forward to continuing to ministry in this city, and I can’t wait to get going on this new opportunity the Lord has blessed us with. May God bless you and your family, Grace and Peace to you all.
