Elementary August Week 2 - God Promised Us Mercy

Posted: 8/8/2021

Hello SCC Kids!

I hope everyone had a wonderful week. For those of you that started school last week, how was it? I would love to hear all about it!

This week, we continue our Promised series with a special promise God made to us through Noah. You all remember the story of Noah, the ark, the flood and how God saved Noah and his family. Do you remember why this all happened? You see, people were sinning and not following God. There had to be a consequence. Just like when you or I mess up and don't do the right thing, there is a consequence for that. Maybe you get grounded at home, or miss recess at school. These are consequences. The awesome thing about God is that he is fair and loving. God did not send the flood to hurt us, but to give us a better world, a new start. After the flood, God made a promise to Noah and to all of us! God promised us mercy! That means God will always love us and show us compassion. To seal this promise, God sent a beautiful rainbow. This way we can always remember the amazing promise God made for us.

I love rainbows! Do you know what else I love? Pool parties!!! I hope to see all of you at our church pool party next Saturday. I will be there with some super fun prizes and some of our friends are getting baptized! You won't want to miss it. I hope you have an awesome week SCC Kids! I love you and God loves you too!

Love,

Ms. Brandy
